Snoop Dogg Dives Deeper Into Web3 with NFT Passports
- Snoop Dogg has shown serious interest in NFTs and Web3 over the past two years.
- The NFT series was launched in partnership with Web3 platform Transient labs and talent agency WME.
Hollywood icon and rapper Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus Jr. is making yet another foray into Web3 with the release of the Snoop Dogg Passport series. Snoop, a huge fan of the industry, has undertaken several ventures in Web3, but this NFT passport seeks to provide a holistic experience for his fans. This NFT pass will grant his fans access to special content and opportunities related to his upcoming concert tour.
The Snoop Dogg Passport NFT is minted on the layer 2 platform Arbitrum and sells for 0.025 ETH ($43). The passport NFTs will also provide fans with unique behind-the-scenes clips related to Snoop’s “High School Reunion Tour” with other rappers like Wiz Khalifa and Too $hort.
The NFTs will further provide access to merchandise, ticket purchases, and music playlists. Additionally, fans who buy the NFTs will be airdropped a piece of “Snoop Selects” digital artwork, which includes works by Terrell Jones and Alien Queen.
Snoop said in a statement,
With the Passport series, I can give my fans the opportunity to travel the world with me—no one’s ever done that. I’ve always been a pioneer, and digital merch is part of the future. I’m hoping other artists can see what I’m doing and continue to innovate on their own.
Snoop is one of the many celebrities who have shown interest in Web3 over the past few years. The legendary rapper already has a couple of Web3-based performances in his portfolio as well as collaborations. Snoop once made a joke about wanting to make Death Row Records “the first major label in the metaverse.” The 51-year-old believes Web3 is a strong part of the future.
