Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has released his first NFT collection in partnership with Binance. Fans can get their hands on the collection starting Friday, November 18. The launch is part of Ronaldo’s multi-year partnership with Binance. The former Real Madrid striker joins the growing list of athletes hoping to give their fans a taste of Web3 via NFTs.
Reacting to the partnership, Binance co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer He Yi said,
We are honored to collaborate with Cristiano to help more people understand blockchain and showcase how we are building Web3 infrastructure for the sports and entertainment industry.
The first Cristiano Ronaldo NFT collection will include seven animated statues with four rarity levels: super super rare (SSR), super rare (SR), rare (R), and normal (N). Each digital statue features a classic scene from Ronaldo’s life, from his jaw-dropping bicycle kicks to his early years in Portugal.

Each rarity level will also have a unique set of benefits, such as a private message from Ronaldo, guaranteed access to all future CR7 NFT releases, free CR7 Mystery Boxes, and autographed CR7 and Binance merchandise.
Additionally, fans who register with Binance for the first time and complete the KYC process will receive a Cristiano Ronaldo Mystery Box. According to a press release, the CR7 Mystery Boxes will be available to the first 1.5 million new Binance users who register with referral ID RONALDO.
Ronaldo, in a statement, expressed his delight at partnering with Binance to connect with his fans. The Manchester United striker was quoted as saying,
It was important to me that we created something memorable and unique for my fans as they are such a big part of my success. With Binance, I was able to make something that not only captures the passion of the game but rewards fans for all the years of support.
Ronaldo has a reputation for being one of the most influential figures, whose influence goes far beyond a football pitch. However, the Portuguese talisman recently came under fire for an interview with Piers Morgan, where he criticized his club and coach, Eric Ten Hag.
The interview was said to have created tension within the United dressing room and fan base. Ronaldo will hope fans turn out in their numbers on Friday when his NFTs are released.
