Huobi Globa’s crypto exchange, HTX, has confirmed that it has recovered close to $8 million from hackers that attacked the platform in late September. The exchange’s team moved swiftly to take control and recover the funds from the exploiters and was successful in partially recovering the funds.
Secondo l'annuncio ufficiale di HTX tramite il suo account sulla piattaforma di social media X (precedentemente nota come Twitter), l'exchange ha anche emesso una taglia di 250 Ether (ETH) per gli hacker, a condizione che restituiscano i fondi rubati. L’azienda ha risolto anche il problema che ha portato all’exploit.
È fondamentale notare che il 25 settembre sono stati rubati da HTX circa 5.000 ETH, che all’epoca ammontavano a $8 milioni. Tuttavia, dopo aver portato a termine la rapina, gli hacker sono stati contattati dall'exchange, il quale ha affermato che gli sviluppatori erano a conoscenza della persona dietro l'exploit.
Dopo una serie di eventi, HTX ha dichiarato che avrebbe offerto all'hacker circa $250 ETH o $400.000 come taglia, che rappresenta 5% dell'importo totale. È interessante notare che l'exchange ha avvertito gli hacker che non avrebbe rivelato la loro identità alle autorità se avessero restituito i fondi a 95% prima della scadenza del 2 ottobre.
