Bybit ontvangt voorafgaande goedkeuring in Kazachstan om als cryptomakelaar te opereren

Een van de toonaangevende crypto-uitwisselingen in de branche die zwaar werd getroffen door de bearrun van de cryptomarkt in 2022, Bybit, kijkt naar uitbreiding van de activiteiten in Kazachstan, een regio die bekend staat om de meeste crypto-miners na de Verenigde Staten. Interessant is dat de crypto-uitwisseling bevestigde dat het vooraf goedkeuring heeft gekregen van de Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) van Kazachstan, de onafhankelijke toezichthouder van het Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) die verantwoordelijk is voor het handhaven van de veiligheid en robuustheid van het financiële systeem van de AIFC. 

Vanaf rapporten, the crypto trading platform announced that the AFSA has pre-approved Bybit to operate as a digital asset trading facility and as a custody services provider at the AIFC. Additionally, the firm recently received in-principle approval from authorities as well. This means that the company is subject to “pre-conditions,” which will then allow it to be transformed into a permanently authorized crypto exchange in Kazakhstan, permitting it to serve locals after the completion of the application. 

However, Ben Zhou, the co-founder and CEO of the crypto exchange, stated that he believes in the “promising potential” of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a regional intergovernmental organization in Eurasia, as a region for growth in the crypto industry.

Bovendien benadrukte de CEO van Bybit ook het belang van het naleven van de lokale regelgeving nadat zijn bedrijf door de Japanse toezichthouders was gedagvaard omdat het zonder registratie in de regio actief was. Zhou verklaarde dat de uitwisseling zal werken aan het naleven van lokale wetten, terwijl hij eraan toevoegde:

“It has always been our primary objective to operate our business in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.”

Bovendien is het belangrijk op te merken dat Bybit bezig is met het uitbreiden van zijn diensten en aanbod na de cryptomarktwinter van 2022. Op 2 mei werd onthuld dat de crypto-uitwisseling gebruikers crypto-uitleendiensten zal aanbieden in een poging om te profiteren van de leegte die is ontstaan door het faillissement van het populaire uitleenplatform Celsius Network. 

Zoals eerder gerapporteerd door Bitnation, sloot de populaire Amerikaanse betalingsverwerker Mastercard een nieuwe samenwerking met Bybit die de crypto-uitwisseling zou zien debuut een nieuwe debetkaart dat betalingen en opnames van bestaande cryptobezit zou ondersteunen. De debetkaart zal worden uitgegeven door Moorwand, die gebruik zal maken van het Mastercard-netwerk om op fiat gebaseerde transacties mogelijk te maken door cryptocurrency-holdings af te schrijven wanneer deze worden gebruikt om te betalen voor items of diensten.

During the crypto winter of 2022, the crypto exchange laid off a significant number of employees and reduced operational costs. The firm’s pre-approval in Kazakhstan suggests a rising interest in crypto firms in the region, which has set its eyes on regulating the industry. The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) is working on the launch of its central bank digital currency (CBDC), called the digitale tenge.
