The founder of the now-bankrupt crypto trading platform FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF in the crypto sector, has been allowed by a federal judge overseeing the former billionaire’s criminal and fraud case to meet with his lawyers outside the jail for a time period of roughly seven hours, after which he will be once again sent behind bars. 

Judge Lewis Kaplan said in a filing with the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York that the former FTX executive will be allowed to meet with his lawyers in the cell block attorney room on August 22 at the courthouse. The subject of the meeting is one of SBF’s scheduled hearings.

Fait intéressant, comme indiqué précédemment par Bitnation, Kaplan revoked the former FTX executive’s bail, et il a été mis derrière les barreaux jusqu'à ce que son affaire soit conclue. L'ancien milliardaire fait face à de multiples accusations de fraude et pourrait passer beaucoup de temps derrière les barreaux s'il est reconnu coupable. L'entrepreneur en crypto réside actuellement au Metropolitan Detention Center de Brooklyn. 

De plus, selon le dossier, le juge Kaplan a autorisé le fondateur de FTX à utiliser un ordinateur portable entre 30 h HNE et 15 h 00 lors de sa rencontre avec l'avocat. D'autre part, les avocats représentant SBF avaient auparavant déposé une requête en justice pour Libération Bankman-Fried five days a week to prepare for his case. Interestingly, Kaplan has only allowed a one-time meeting outside the courthouse on August 22, while another order on the same is pending based on the Department of Justice’s response. 

It is crucial to note that the FTX founder’s first of two trials is set to begin on October 2, and he will be facing seven fraud charges in the same. In a superseding indictment filed by prosecutors on August 14, it was revealed that SBF’s alleged violations of the campaign finance scheme will also be considered part of a wire fraud charge. The next trial for the crypto entrepreneur is set to begin in March 2024.
